A few years back large projections screens were installed at the Hollywood Bowl.  This helps to get a better view no matter where you sit.  Bring binoculars (or rent a pair on the grounds) for a better view.

You can bring younger children to the performances but for the most part this is an adult venue.  The LA Phil does offer daytime shows suited more for children called SummerSounds for Kids.

On your way to your seats grab a few complimentary trash bags.  Be sure to deposit in the correct marked barrels.

Seat cushions can also be rented for just a few dollars.  Can make sitting in the wooden benches a bit more tolerable.

No matter how warm the day, the evenings just seem to get chilly.  Bring a jacket.

If you take one of the Bowl busses be sure to listen to your driver.  They will tell you where to pick the correct bus up when the night is over.

Can I get a picture of what the view will be like from Section D Row 3, Seats 34, 36, and 38? Thank you!

    • admin says:

Yosuf here is the view from Section D Row 3 Seat 40. Since this sections just has even-numbered seats your seats start just one ledt of this view. Hope this helps.

    • admin says:

Renee Section M1 is all wooden benches. Get there early and rent a seat cushion for $1. Makes the night more comfortable. Great seats to see the fireworks!

My daughter is a HUGE fan ( as well as a singer/performer)
& wants to see the performers up close

    • admin says:

Lisa because the show is tomorrow I won’t be able to get the exact view from your box but here is the view from the same row. You will have a great view of the main stage and the big screens. I am not sure about getting better seats right before the concert. This is a lease event so it is up to the promoter. Can’t hurt on your way in to stop at the Box Office on the left. Have a great time.

ok so why are the super seats called “super seats”? Also I think I have a ticket in that area for Fleetwood Mac – Sec H Row 18 seats 101-102 – can you give me a view of what the stage will look like? (hope it’s not too far) I am kinda bummed I didn’t get boxed seats this time 🙁 Thank you sooo much 🙂

  7. jon says:

hi, just want to know how many people can sit on the bench at the G2 section?
    Thank you.

    • admin says:

Jon section G2 at the Hollywood Bowl is an even numbered section meaning the seats only have even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, etc). Next because the sections are conical the rows tend to have more seats the further back in the section your are sitting. For example row 11 starts at seat 2 and ends on seat 42 so that means 21 people fill that row. How this helps.

hello, we are visiting from australia and would like to attend on July 4th. i notice on the website you can buy tickets now if you buy tickets for 5 shows. or just for the 1 show on july 4th is not on sale for a few weeks yet. does anyone know if the july 4th tickets usually sell out quickly? or if we get on the internet on the day they go on sale we should be ok? any advise is appreciated! thank you 🙂

    • admin says:

Mel single tickets go on sale Saturday, May 5th. The July 4th Fireworks Spectacular is performed July 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Hard to say what tickets will be available but right now there are still plenty of boxes in the Garden Section which means many good seats still available. When May 5th rolls around be sure to call or be on-line as soon as the Box Office opens. I go every year and it is a wonderful time. Good luck.

  11. Marianne says:

I want to purchase seats for the EWF concert for September 15th. I believe there will be fireworks. How far back do you have to sit to see the fireworks? Would you recommend pool seats or garden boxes for this concert? Thank you.

    • admin says:

Marianne the Pool Circle seats are the best in the house for watching a performance however for any of the shows that offer fireworks they fall short. Often the ushers will come around and guide the pool circle patrons back a section to watch the fireworks. The further you move back the better the fireworks experience is but you lose proximity to the stage. That all being said it is probably nice to strike a balance. Its a personal choice but I would say the Garden Boxes offer a nice mix. Maybe the 6th-ish row. I will be at that show! Hope this helps.

  12. BrendaZ says:

I recently bought tickets for System Of a Down on July 29th. Im seated at Section F3 Row 5, Seats 6 and 8. Can I please have a view of the stage from these seats??
    Much appreciated 🙂

  13. Johnny says:

Going to the Bowl for the first time to see System of a down. Since it isn’t a traditional show like the Phil Harmonic, are we allowed to ‘visit’ other sections? I only ask because part of our group are in another section. Are they really strict on sticking to your assigned seat? Thank you 🙂

    • admin says:

Johnny it depends on the section. They do make you show a ticket when you get try to enter the Terrace, Garden or Pool sections. Even if you can make it to the other section there isn’t often a lot of extra room in the sections that are benches. Good luck.

      • Johnny says:

Most of us are in section E, some in section D and a couple in J2. I don’t even know where the rest ended up Lol.

  14. Kristina says:

Hi!Could you give me a view of the stage from seats 110,111,112,and 113 in section L2 bench 3?

    • admin says:

Here you go Kristina. Seat 113 is on the aisle. Good view of the stage and main screen. Also the seats are off a bit from the main aisle so you will not be bothered by fols walking up and down.

  18. Gretchen says:

I am going to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time next May to see Fleetwood Mac (just got my tickets today). I’m concerned about our seats, though. Section F3, Row 9, seats 18 and 20. Are we going to have a big shrub obstructing our view? I would appreciate any information – thank you so much!

    • admin says:

Gretchen looks like you will have a clear view to the stage. Here is the view from Section F3 Row 9 Seat 18.

I have seats that are Sec U1, Row 20, Seat 80. Would it be possible to see the view from this seat, please?

    • admin says:

Maureen I will not be able to get to the Bowl before your concert (I am guessing it is this weekend). here is a view from Section U1 Row 18 (middle). Hope this helps give you and idea.

I have tickets for Mumford & Sons this weekend in section J2 row 16. What is the seat range for that row? I’m trying to find out if seat 13 or 19 is closer to the aisle? Thanks!

    • admin says:

C seats are odd numbered in Section J1. Seat 1 is more towards the center of the Bowl and the last seat in that row is 39. Seems like 13 might be a bit closer. Here is a detailed map of the Hollywood Bowl and a view from Section J2 Row 14 Seat 1. Hope this helps.

Is there any way of a picture of Garden area box 822 (we have seats 3 and 4). We are attending 11/9/12 for B. Streisand concert. Also is the Rooftop Grill a restaurant we sit down and eat and where is it located from where our seats are at? Thank you for any information you can provide.

    • admin says:

Ernest Garden Box 822 is on the same side as the Rooftop Grill. Literally steps away from your seats. Here is a link to a map from the Hollywood Bowl showing the Rooftop Grill ovation. Reservations recommended, please call 323.850.1885.

Hello! I recently bought tickets for Mumford and Sons on November 12th. I have tickets in section F3, Row 18, seats 6 & 8. I was wondering if these seats were obstructed in any way? I know some around this section can be. Any advice would help!

    Thank you again.

Have box seats for Neil Young. This will be first time at Hollywood Bowl. Can I bring a small cooler? Bring own alcohol or buy there? And what should I wear??? Thank you 🙂

    • admin says:

Kate Neil Young is a leased event so there are special venue policies for the show. Small coolers are allowed. You can bring your own food however bringing your own alcohol is not allowed. They do sell alcohol there. Also no aluminum or glass regardless of the liquid. Here is a link to the Hollywood Bowl’s official leased event policies.

  25. Jack says:

Thinking about going to the Animal Collective show. How late does a show like that run? Do all shows have to be over by a certain time?

  26. Nick says:

Question: I have Pool Circle tickets to the Totally 80’s night on 9/29/12. Usually, there are box seats, but wondering if it will be the same for this concert or simply reserved seats, no tables?

    • admin says:

Nick I was at last year’s Totally 80s and they had the boxes set up in the pool section. Of course that doesn’t mean they will this year. Do you tickets have a box number on them or a row number? That might hint at the seat set-up. I’ll be at the 80s Night performance again this year. So much fun.

  27. Nora says:

Hi. I have tickets for section F1. This is my first time at this venue and would like to know if I need to bring cushions or if we get chairs. Also, can we bring in food and drinks? Thanks.

    • admin says:

Nora section F1 are wooden benches. You can bring your own cushions or rent them at the Bowl for fifty cents each. They do run out of them if you get to the Bowl late. You can always bring your own food. You do not say if the tickets are for a LA Phil sponsored event or a leased event. If it is a LA-Phil sponsored event then you can bring your own alcoholic drinks.

If it is a leased event the rules are a bit more stringent. You can bring you own non-alcoholic drinks however they are strict on the type of container. You can purchase alcohol at from the Bowl shops. I purchased a bottle of wine ($45) and they uncork the bottle and place it in a large solo cup. If you are attending a leased event it is best to read these policies. Enjoy!

I want to purchase some good seats….any suggestions?? I do not want to pay more than 65.00…4th of July Barry Manilow…

  29. Zuma says:

Just wondering why in sections D and E some of the seats on the seating chart say obstructed?

    • admin says:

The obstructions comes from the structures that hold the large screens on either side. It’s not many seats. Only the extreme end ones closer to the front.
